AMFC Sponsor Spotlight #7 *Click-A-Doo Dipes*

Click-a-Doo dipes is another one of our wondeful sponsors for the A Merry Fluffy Christmas event coming up soon.

They generously sent me one of their awesome AI2s to try out. I am so excited to share my review with you!

Let me start by tell you how much I love this diaper!

Rochelle custom made this OS AI2 with snap-in soaker just for us, but she also has other adorable prints like the ones below.

The shell of my diaper is cotton knit with a layer of PUL underneath, the lining is made of anti-pill fleece, and the snap-in soaker consists of 2 layers of hemp/cotton french terry sandwiched between a layer of bamboo fleece and a top layer of bamboo velour. I love how soft the inside is, and I know it must be so comfy for Devin!

As you can see, the tabs are very wide, which to me, seems that it would make for a more comfortable fit, and because it rides high, it actually stays in place. It's extremely absorbant, and though I haven't tried it overnight yet, many moms are raving that these diapers have become their nighttime solution.

I cannot tell you how much I love this diaper! Between its high absorbancy, great fit, and cute factor, it is definitely one of our favorites. There's no doubt that I will be adding more to our stash very soon.

a perfect fit!

Here's a little about Click-a-Doo Dipes:

"When my son was about 11 months old I started looking at the idea of cloth diapering.  I was getting so tired of the cost of disposables and having to buy them so often.  Not to mention the thought of what it was doing to the planet with so many people just like me, and the waste it created.  It took me about a month to decide to finally jump in.  It was hard to spend $100 on diapers up front, but I knew in the end it would pay for itself.  I had only intended to do cloth on a part time basis since he was in daycare, but I knew it would make a big impact even if it was only when he was home.  The moment I put his first diaper on I was hooked!!

The next thing I  learned was how addicting it was buying fluff!!  Once I had a good working stash I decided I wanted more "cute" diapers.  This quest lead me to places like Hyena Cart and Etsy.  I was introduced to another world of the CUTEST cloth diapers!  I then very meekly attempted to try to get some of the more popular diapers, however all attempts failed. :-(  I then started thinking, I know how to basically sew, I just may have to learn a few techniques, but maybe I need to just figure out how to make my own.  So from there I took on the challenge of trying to figure out how to do it.  It was a learning process that was often very frustrating, and I had many seemingly failed diapers.  Each attempt taught me a lesson though, and I was able to correct it on the next one.  I love a challenge, and I have a huge drive to be the best at what ever I do. This has worked out well for me in this situation because I think I have a pretty great diaper now that I know is just as good if not better then all those diapers I was never able to buy.  I love the process of seeing a print and turning it into the cutest diaper!  I also love knowing not only are they cute, they are highly functional.  I have always thought it would be great to have a business of my own, but knew the key to success is having something you are passionate about.  I have finally found that passion and I love it!!!"

Click-a-Doo Dipes is generously offering one lucky winner a custom diaper of their choice, as well as a hemp/terry doubler!

That's a value of over $25!

AMFC Sponsor Spotlight #6 *Wallypop*

Wallypop is another one of our wondeful sponsors for the A Merry Fluffy Christmas event coming up in a few short weeks.

Wallypop generously sent me one of their fitted diapers to try out.

This adorably squishy diaper is a fitted. The outer and everything that touches baby is flannel. The inside of the diaper body and the inside of the pull-out soaker is made of super absorbant sherpa. We have been using it without a cover and have yet to have a leak! We haven't attempted an overnight trial yet, but once I get a cover that I like, we'll give it a shot. It fits Devin very nicely and is super cute! I'm usually not a huge fan of hook and loop closure, but the Touch Tape on this dipe is very sticky. In fact, of my diapers with H&L, this one and one other brand's tabs manage to stay attached to the laundry tab in the wash. So, I'm happy to say that this cutie hasn't been the culprit of any wash-day-diaper-chains. :)

soaker flipped out
As I mentioned before, this diaper has a soaker that is attached, but flips away from the body of the diaper. This allows the diaper to dry faster and in my opinion, is easier to get clean.

This diaper is a size medium and fits Devin perfectly, with plenty of room to go.

Wallypop doesn't just do diapers though! They also carry slings, mama cloth, breast pads, family cloth, and so much more!

Here's a little about WallyPop:

"Wallypop is my home business, based in Des Moines, Iowa. I am Sarah Reid, wife, Work At Home Mom (WAHM), and mommy to Walter, whom we call Wally (or sometimes Wallypop) and Genevieve, whom we call Genna.

Wallypop's goal is to provide high-quality, handmade diapers, baby carriers, and related products at affordable prices. We offer cloth diapers, diaper covers and accessories, all kinds of baby carriers, and reusable items for home and personal use such as produce bags, snack bags, cycle pads, and reusable floor cloths.

Wallypop actually got its start way back when I was in preschool. I've always enjoyed sewing - even before I was big enough to reach the pedal. Once I grew up, I knew I wanted to use cloth diapers on my children. Not only was it better for them, but the financial aspect helped, too! When I was pregnant with Wally, I began to sew diapers for him. That's when I discovered how fun it is to sew diapers! I started sewing a few diapers for friends online, who told their friends, etc., and by the time Wally was born, I realized that this could be a viable home business. I needed a source of income and wanted to do something I enjoy, so Wallypop was born shortly after Wally was!"

Wallypop is generously offering a package of items to one lucky winner!

The package consists of:
  • a fitted diaper
  • a fleece cover
  • one pair of Little Legs leg warmers
All in the winners choice of in-stock items!

That's a value of over $30.00!

AMFC Sponsor Spotlight #5 *RagaBabe*

RagaBabe is another one of our wondeful sponsors for the A Merry Fluffy Christmas event coming up in a few short weeks.

RagaBabe diapers are quickly becoming quite the sensation in the cloth diapering world. The competition should be very afraid!

RagaBabe offers two types of diapers:
  • An Easy All-in-One: This diaper comes in bold colors and to-die-for prints. This sized AIO features a pocket so you can customize absorbancy. We use our AIOs without additional absorbancy during the daytime, then for nights, we lay one of their organic cotton sherpa inserts on top. Devin is a very heavy wetter and often ends up on his side. This layering allows for super fast absorbancy, thus protecting my sheets. We sleep with our Rags every night, and since trying this method, Devin has yet to wake in a puddle.
  • The Easy Organic 2-Step: This system consists of a sizable shell with snap-in inserts. This means you don't have to purchase as many diapers! Buy a few shells, load up on inserts, and you're good to go! You only have to change the shell if it becomes soiled (though you may want to let it dry out every other change). These diapers are sized, but they also have rise-adjusting snaps meant to fit your baby comfortably even during those awkward "between-size" stages. I have yet to try one, but lots of mamas are raving about them.
At first, many people are put off by the price, but with these diapers, you truly get what you pay for. The craftsmanship is spectacular and the materials used are of the highest quality. The hook & loop closure is very strong and the elastic is nice and wide.

Easy All-in-One

Organic 2-Step

I bought my first RagaBabe off a popular diaper trading community. From there, I was hooked! I have since purchased 4 more of their AIOs and am hoping for even more!

Here's one of our favorites:

My happy RagaBoy!
A little about RagaBabe:

I am a mother of two children, Isabelle, our five year old, and Asaiah, our two year old.  My husband, Andy, and I are blessed with bright, healthy children, but both have extreme food intolerance and sensitivities.  The first couple years of Isabelle's life were spent researching and experimenting with foods that she could tolerate. Our second child proved no different.  At least I knew his diet!
But what I didn't know, was the solution to the sores on their bottoms. That led me to try cloth diapering.
I tried several leading brands of cloth diapers, which brought about some improvement to the sores.  What bothered me the most was the performance of many of the diapers.  Some had very limited absorbency and would leak after an hour or two. (Too many wet sheets and car seats.)  Some would retain odor after washing and required 'stripping'.  Others would look 'ratty' after only a few washings-- and the drying time (up to two hours) was way too long. And their looks and fit left something to be desired.  There had to be a better diaper.
That pursuit has changed my life. With the help of my husband, mother and father (Carol and Dave), the process began that would mean thousands of hours of research and development, design and testing.  Over 300 prototypes were created and meticulously evaluated.  Hundreds of design and fabric changes.  A lot of tears shed.  A lot of prayers answered.  Travels around the country.  New materials developed for RagaBabe never used in diapers.  Problems... and problems solved.
Without leaning on faith in an incredible God, we all might have given up long ago. But with every roadblock, came a breakthrough -- and a better diaper.  We are so excited to offer two amazing diapers, our RagaBabe 'Easy' All-In-One and our RagaBabe Organic '2-Step' (Cover with snap-in Insert). Both designed to make you "love cloth diapers!"

RagaBabe is generously offering a $25 store credit towards anything in their store!

AMFC Sponsor Spotlight #4 *Peanut Pants*

Peanut Pants is another one of our wondeful sponsors for the A Merry Fluffy Christmas event coming up in a few short weeks.

I was given the wonderful opportunity to try out one of their adorable diapers!

newborn setting

I was sent this one size AIO Monster print diaper to try out. The colors on it are so vivid, and though the print is not for everyone, I adore it! Very boyish!

This diaper has a cotton knit PUL outer with a luxurious cotton sherpa inner. It has snaps on the rise which make it adjustable to fit babies of approximately 7-35 lbs, with the settings of NB, S, M, & L. The absorbant layer is a super-thirsty microterry.

What makes this diaper unique is the fact that the absorbant inner layer can be pulled all the way out. This allows for easy adjusting of size, as well as quicker dry time. You simply fold down a bit and tuck it under the lip of the pocket.

With quality materials and superb craftsmanship, this diaper is quickly becoming one of our favorites. Not only is it cute, it also fits my little guy so well. The elastic is gentle and the sherpa is sooo soft!

Here's a little about Amanda:

"My name is Amanda Minnick owner of Baby Go Green and maker/ designer of PeanutPants.  My husband Matthew and I currently live in Golden Colorado while he is working on his Ph. D. in Geological Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines and Technology.   We have been married for 3 years and have a beautiful little girl named Michaela.  She is a very active 2 year old and enjoys swimming and going down the water slide at our community center.
I began my obsession with cloth diapers when my daughter was born.  Quite honestly I felt very lost trying to figure out what I needed and how much I needed to get started.  When Michaela was a newborn I had the good ole prefolds, diaper pins, and covers, and I hated it. I could never get them on properly and I totally gave up.
It wasn’t until Michaela was 6months that I thought okay there has to be a better way to do this whole diaper thing.   I began researching, asking questions and trying different styles and types of diapers.  However they still were not what I was searching for and decided to make my own.  They started out very primitive, and gradually got better.
By the time Michaela was a year old I created PeanutPants an all-in-one cloth diaper.  The design went through small tweaks and changes based on input from friends, customers, and experiences with Michaela.
And finally my masterpiece the one size all-in-one cloth diaper PeanutPants. This is what I wanted all along a simple diaper that works for all the different stages, without all the cost of having to size up all the time.  One set that works from the day you bring your new little addition home till the day you start potty training.
I hope to see Baby Go Green as an actual store front some day.  There are so many ways I think I would be able to outreach to new moms and dads through an actual store front vs. just being online.
So for now I will continue to make my awesome diapers from home and post them on Etsy for you to enjoy.
Blessings,
Amanda"

Peanut Pants is generously offering a celery colored diaper and a set of plush wipes to one lucky winner.

That's a value of $30!

AMFC Sponsor Spotlight #3 *Little Fancy Pants*

Little Fancy Pants is another one of our wondeful sponsors for the A Merry Fluffy Christmas event coming up in a few short weeks.

Little Fancy Pants specializes in fitted diapers and AI2s that are scumptiously adorable. Seriously guys, she chooses some of the most adorable prints EVER! Don't believe me? Check out some of her fabrics and work on her Facebook page.

I'll wait while you look...

Toldja!

In addition, The material she uses are of very high quality. Cotton velour, organic cotton terry, and organic bamboo fleece are some she frequently uses.

Here's a little about Leah, the seamstress that makes little pants so fancy:

"My name is Leah, I am 25, and I am the owner of Little Fancy Pants.

At the moment I am a full time student, majoring in Sociology.  I am currently engaged to Mike, who I met in 2002.  We were friends for a long time until we started dating in 2007.

For now, we don't have any children, mainly because I would like to graduate and get married first.  But also because I am unable to have children, so in the future we will have to try fertility treatments.

I have always wanted 10 kids!  But everyone I know thinks i'm crazy for wanting that many.  But I loved taking care of my niece when she was a baby, I even learned to sew by hand by making her pants and skirts to wear.

I started sewing for her around age 8, and then my mother showed me how to sew on a machine. Later on, around late 2006 a friend of mine asked me to make her some cloth diapers for her newborn, and while doing this I learned how to use a serger.

From there, the first diaper that I sewed was not very pretty at all.  However, as I made more and more for her they started looking better and better.

She also told me about the community online for cloth diapers, and I posted a few pictures of what I made on a forum.  A few people messaged me asking if I sold them, and that gave me the initial idea to start selling some.

I started Little Fancy Pants with the dream that every baby could wear cute, affordable cloth diapers.
So from there I started testing different styles, once testing was finalized I started selling "Little Fancy Pants" on my hyena cart store in November 2008.

My store has now been open for 2 years, and I still love sewing cloth diapers.  The best part of my job has been the emails that I get from parents who tell me they love these diapers.

One day my little one, will be cloth diapered in Little Fancy Pants too!"

For A Merry Fluffy Christmas, Little Fancy Pants is generously offering one lucky winner $25 to spend at her Hyena Cart!

  • Fun and funky fashion accessory, adding personality to any outfit

A little about the history of BabyLegs

"The BabyLegs® brand has grown from one mom's diaper bag accessory - our signature leg warmer - to a popular children's brand with essential child and baby products.

In April of 2005, a young mom was confronted with a diaper rash that just wouldn't quit. The rash needed some fresh air to heal, but she was also concerned about keeping her daughter warm. In a moment of inspiration, she snipped the feet off of a pair of socks and fitted her daughter from hip to ankle with a cool set of leg warmers. These leg warmers not only kept her daughter warm, but also protected her from the elements, made diaper changing and potty training easier, and protected her soft knees while crawling. With some fun designs and some grassroots marketing support, the functional and fashionable leg warmers that began as a solution to keep little legs warm quickly became much more.

BabyLegs® leg warmers quickly became a parenting essential across the world because of their utility, practicality, and stylish appeal. Our continued desire to provide products that provide style and protection for little legs and feet eventually led us to expand into children's hosiery with the introduction of baby socks and girls tights. In 2009, BabyLegs® was acquired by the United Legwear Company, a global manufacturer of hosiery and underwear. To learn more about United Legwear, please visit http://www.unitedlegwear.com/about-us."

Wordless Wednesday

This one always gives me a chuckle. This is my hellraising little Mitchell. :)

AMFC Sponsor Spotlight #1 *Rockin' Green*

Rockin' Green is one of our wondeful sponsors for the A Merry Fluffy Christmas event coming up in a few short weeks.

Let me start by saying that I love Rockin' Green! I wash all my diapers in it, as well as my boys' clothes. I adore the scent that wafts up as I open my coffee can full of the good stuff--it's a nice little incentive to doing laundry. And I really love that the laundry I wash with it smells of nothing but *clean* when they're done. I mean, my kids don't need to go around smelling like a perfume counter at a department store.

Even better than the scent is how incredibly well Rockin' Green works at getting gunk out of clothes, dipes... well... anything. A little over a month ago, I "rocked a soak" on my bathroom rugs and documented the process. Now, if you're not familiar with "rocking a soak", you can basically soak anything with a few tbsp of Rockin' Green and a washing machine (or bathtub or sink) full of water. I guarantee you will be disgusted and amazed at all the nastiness that's been hanging out in your "clean" sheets, rugs, towels, clothes, etc. Here's what my rugs looked like from the beginning of the soak to the end:

Id' say that speaks for itself!

I couldn't believe what filth we'd been living in, but I was so relieved to see how visibly clean Rockin' Green had gotten them. I've got big plans to "rock some soaks" on more stuff around the house in the near future.

Rockin' Green comes in so many scents and formulas--you're sure to find one that meets your needs and nose. They have great names that follow the rock n roll theme.

Formulas
  • Soft Rock--for those with soft water or babes with sensitive skin
  • Classic Rock--for those with normal water hardness
  • Hard Rock--for those who have high levels of minerals in their water
Scents (think band names when you read the list :) )
  • Orangevana
  • Smashing Watermelons
  • Rage Against the Raspberries
  • Motley Clean
  • The Plain Green Teas
  • Lavender Mint Revival
  • Mighty Mighty Marshmallow
  • Bare Naked Babies (unscented)

And soon, they will be releasing a new formula called "Funk Rock". It's designed to give diapers a super deep cleaning to get out the dreaded ammionia smell (aka stinkies).

For the A Merry Fluffy Christmas event, Rockin' Green will be giving away a bag in the winner's choice of scent and formula! (My favorites are Lavender Mint Revival & Mighty Might Marshmallow.)

So, as I mentioned in my last post, at the end of each Sponsor Spotlight, you will have the opportunity to earn extra entries into the giveaway package containing that sponsor's product. If you'd like to participate, please fill out the form below. And don't forget--these extra entries are only valid if you complete the mandantory entry on the day the giveaway is posted.

A Merry Fluffy Christmas Extra Entries Info

As you have read, Sponsor Spotlights will be going up very soon. The first one is done, but I'm a pen-to-paper-kinda girl, so I just need to transfer my written post to here. With that said, I thought it would be wise to give you guys an idea of how this is going to work, because it will be a bit different than traditional review/giveaways.

For each Sponsor Spotlight that I post, you have the opportunity to earn extra entries into the giveaway package that that particular sponsor will be a part of. For instance, my first Sponsor Spotlight will be on Rockin' Green. Let's say you fill out the form at the end of that post. Now, let's also say that Rockin' Green will be in a giveaway package along with Suburban Tree Hugger. Those entries that you gained by filling out the form will go into the pot for the RnG/STH package. However, in order to utilize those extra entries, you must also complete the mandantory entry for that package. If you don't, your extra entries are useless. The mandantory entries will be super easy and streamlined to make it easy for you to hop from blog to blog on the event days. I really hope that makes sense. Hehe~

If you have any questions at all about the event, feel free to email me at laurenslittlelovies at yahoo dot com.

You can find a list of sponsors on my sidebar under "Pages". Here's a quick link, though, in case you're wondering who all is going to be a part of this.
