The Dirties on Diapering
In case you haven't heard, "The Dirties on Diapering" has been quite the topic of interest in the cloth diapering community here lately. The Dirties on Diapering started as a kickstarter project by Jamie Wilkinson. Her goal was to raise $6000 to fund the publishing of a book that utilizes photography to display cloth vs disposable diapering. Her plan is to go into detail all the reasons why cloth diapering is so much better for everyone.
After three attempts to gain all the funding needed, Jamie met (and exceeded) her goal just yesterday! This project is going to be such a huge step in the world of cloth diapering. Imagine being able to show your sposie using friends this book. Imagine the looks on their faces when they read the statistics and actually SEE how much better cloth is for babies and the environment. I am, personally, so excited that Jamie is finally able to move forward in publishing this book.
If you'd like to be a backer and take part in what is bound to be an historical moment, there is still time. Funding for The Dirties on Diapering is still open until tomorrow morning. In addition to being a part of something so monumental, there are added perks for backers. You can find all the details on the kickstarter project page here. You can also find The Dirties on Diapering on Facebook, where Jamie often has giveaways for the fans. And you can follow the journey of this project on Jamie's blog.
If nothing else, spread the word! Let's help bring this project to the forefront and get cloth diapering noticed!

My Precious Kid
I'm sorry I haven't updated my blog in quite a while. Sometimes life just kind of gets in the way. Before I devote an entire post to what I've been up to for the last few months, I want to talk to you all a little bit about child safety.
Devin is so very close to crawling. It's time for me to stop thinking about childproofing, and start doing it. One of my resources for covering all my bases in child safety is My Precious Kid.
They have everything parents need to make sure their little one stays safe and sound, while exploring the world around them. They carry everything from baby gates and cabinet locks, to door stop alarms and stove guards.
Now, as we approach the warmer months, many of us are beginning to think about road trips and vacations. My Precious Kid has us covered there too! They have ID bracelets and shoe ID tags, toddler harnesses, and (I think this is just the coolest idea!) lost & found temporary tattoos. Your put this onto your kiddo, write your phone number on it, and (heaven forbid) if your child gets lost, there is a way for whomever finds them to contact you!
Are you a cloth diapering family? They have cloth diapers, laundry detergents, and other accessories.
Do you make your little one's baby food yourself? Do you own a baby food mill? My Precious Kid has them!
Are you a parent-to-be, or have a brand new little one? My Precious Kid gives every new family a little gift: A car seat ID tag.
What I really love about My Precious Kid, besides their plethora of baby products, is their interaction with their fans on facebook. Everyday, Kay asks her fans what they need help with. If you have a question, she (and other parents) will help get you the answer you're looking for.
So, whether you're a new parent, a seasoned veteran, or a simply a family member, My Precious Kid has the prefect gift for those little people in your life: The gift of safety.
